Reasons for Policy
There are several reasons why we have no-dogs-on-site policies. Some of these reasons include:
- Safety concerns: Dogs can bite, scratch, or knock people over. They may also carry diseases that can be transmitted to humans.
- Allergies: Some people are allergic to dogs. Their presence at college can trigger allergic reactions, which can be life-threatening.
- Distractions: Dogs can be distracting to students and staff. They may bark, chase after people, or play fetch. This can make it difficult for people to focus on their work or studies.
- Sanitation: Dogs can leave faeces and urine on school grounds. This can create a health hazard and make the site less pleasant to be in.
